• Gladys McMurray was probably less than 10 when her mother, Ella, died, as she was raised by Aunt Tina, Justina Conrey Loder, and her grandmother Ella (not shown above) and her father George.
• George had a family Bible and in it was written, "To George McMurray, Gladys, at the age of 17, met and married John Francis Lednum. John was born in Hancock Co. in or near Fortville."
• Justina Loder married Will or William Loder near Raleigh in Rush Co., In. They had two babies and both of them died along with their father during an influenza epidemic.
